Just getting started? New Pay As You Go accounts receive a one-time allowance of 100 MB and 100 credits.

Added funds never expire. Included credits reset each billing period. Unused monthly bandwidth rolls over while you keep your plan or upgrade.See rollover conditions.

1 GB = 1,000 MB.

Know what you’re paying for.

Bandwidth for retrieving pages. Credits for search and extraction. One dollar balance covers additional usage.

01 / Bandwidth

Retrieve the page.

Scraping, fetching, bulk requests, monitor runs and screenshots use bandwidth. Charges reflect the data retrieved from the source website, adjusted for the endpoint and options you choose—not simply the size of the output you receive.

Scrape or fetch cache hit: 50% discount on the bandwidth charge.

Markdown output bills at 1.5× the bytes fetched; plain scrape, fetch, sitemap and monitor runs bill at 1.0×.

Pages that need a hosted browser to get past bot protection bill the browser's full transfer.

02 / Credits

Find the right URLs.

Search costs one credit for each requested group of up to 10 results, up to 10 credits per request. The charge follows your requested limit, even if fewer results come back.

Request up to 10 results: 1 credit.

03 / Bandwidth + credits

Extract structured fields.

Structured extraction costs 10 credits plus bandwidth for retrieving the source page. Your included allowances apply first, with additional usage charged to your dollar balance.

Structured extraction: 10 credits + bandwidth.

What’s the difference between bandwidth and credits?

Bandwidth measures the data retrieved from websites. Credits pay for search and structured extraction. Retrieving pages uses bandwidth, search uses credits, and structured extraction uses both.

Monthly plans include separate allowances for each. Once the relevant allowance runs out, your dollar balance covers additional usage at your plan’s rates.

Why charge by bandwidth instead of per request?

Requests vary in size. Fetching a short article transfers much less data than retrieving a large page. Bandwidth pricing reflects that difference, so smaller pages cost less instead of every request carrying the same price.

The endpoint and options you choose also affect the charge.

Each endpoint applies a factor to those bytes as part of the charge. A scrape that asks for clean_markdown and gets a successful clean adds 3× on top of its endpoint factor, so a cleaned Markdown scrape is billed at 4.5× the bytes fetched.

How is Pay As You Go different from a monthly plan?

Pay As You Go has no monthly fee. Add funds and pay for what you use. Monthly plans include bandwidth and credits each billing period, plus lower usage rates as you move up.

How do top-ups work?

Add $10, $25, $50, $100 or $500 to your dollar balance. The same balance covers bandwidth and credits after the relevant included allowance runs out, at your current plan’s rates.

Your added funds never expire. Changing or cancelling your plan does not reduce or freeze your remaining dollar balance.

Does unused monthly bandwidth roll over?

Yes. Unused included bandwidth rolls over without a cap while you keep your plan or upgrade.

Downgrading or cancelling freezes eligible higher-tier rollover. Return to the same tier or higher within 90 days to restore it; otherwise, it expires. Included credits reset each billing period and do not roll over.

These rules apply to monthly allowances—not the dollars you add.

What happens when my balance runs out?

If your available allowance and funds cannot cover a request, it is rejected. Add funds or change your plan to continue.

At zero balance, a single request returns HTTP 402. There is no automatic overage; continuing requires a top-up. Bulk jobs pause, and monitor checks are skipped until balance is restored.

You can enable auto-top-up in your billing settings, choosing when it triggers, how much it adds, and a monthly spending cap.

Is cached data cheaper?

Yes. A scrape or fetch served from cache gets a 50% discount on the bandwidth charge. Choose your cache window, or request fresh content. The discount applies to scrape and fetch cache hits.

Can I change plans?

Yes, from your billing settings. Upgrade charges are adjusted for the remaining billing period. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.

A cancellation scheduled for period end keeps your plan active until then. Your added dollar balance remains available; monthly allowances follow the rollover rules above.

What happens if a request fails?

A failed request is not always free. For example, if ByteKit retrieves a page but structured extraction fails, the page’s bandwidth charge can remain while the extraction credits are refunded.

What happens on sites that block automated access?

ByteKit handles retrieval and browser fallback, but successful access is not guaranteed. Use it for public pages you are authorized to access. Access restrictions and ourAcceptable Use Policy still apply.

What is the difference between concurrency and rate limit?

Concurrency limits how many captures—such as scrapes, fetches and screenshots—can run at once. Rate limit controls how many new requests you can send per second. Consider both when choosing a plan.
